The Shanghai Tower was opened in September 2015. 126 storeys high, it culminates 632 metres up, making it the second highest tower in the world. Despite its dizzying height, the Shanghai Tower is not as high as the Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai and its giddy dimensions : 163 stories and 828 metres
The highest tower in China is the work of the US architects firm Gensler. It is presented as a “city within a city”, erected vertically, with office, leisure, shopping areas and also aerial gardens and interior courtyards. The designers focused in particular on the building’s energy performances.
