Smart, the most intelligent office in all of Spain?

In Barcelona, proptech company Sharry unveiled the first building to use its smart office technology. Called Smart, it is part of a complex located in the high-tech business district 22@.

Smart, part of the22@ business and technology district, uses global proptech platform Sharry to digitise access, parking management and visitor experience. Proptech is a term used to refer to start-ups that provide innovative technology products or new models for the real estate market.

Fully sustainable design

Developed by Meridia Capital and designed by GCA Architects, Smart offers approximately 25,000 square metres of office space in three separate buildings linked by extensive green spaces. It also has a rooftop terrace, common areas and amenities that promote a sense of community and a fully sustainable design. Smart is Leed Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and Well Platinum certified.

Sharry digitised the building’s access, parking management and visitor experience. All features are accessible in a mobile application developed by Sharry, whose software is already used by New York skyscrapers, such as the iconic Vanderbilt Tower in Manhattan.

Sharry’s solution allows tenants to use digital access badges, eliminating plastic cards that are easily misplaced and not environmentally friendly. The platform can also be used for booking shared spaces, self-service at the reception desk or communicating any Covid-related policy.

22@, the district of technology, arts, and culture

22@ has become a meeting place for technology and arts and culture, with a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Through Sharry’s mobile application, users will have access to information from these local businesses, including daily menus, special offers, invitations to various events, etc.

Users can use Sharry’s technology to access the space in all three buildings by unlocking turnstiles and doors with their smartphones. In addition, they can reserve a parking space or a meeting room in just a few clicks. The Smart mobile application also streamlines visitor management, as occupants can quickly generate a QR code for guests, replacing the visitor badge. Occupants can also reserve a parking space for their guests or send them a link for an online booking.

We are delighted that Sharry is now present in the Spanish market, and it is particularly spectacular with Smart as the building is the first in Spain to achieve this level of integration“, said David Hartl, Sharry’s Head of Sales and Development.
