From the 15th to 17th November 2022, Barcelona will be hosting the Smart City Expo World Congress 2022, an essential event for innovative businesses that offer products and services for intelligent and sustainable management of tomorrow’s cities.
More than half of the world population lives in cities, a trend that should continue to increase in the coming years. For smart cities that embrace technologies likely to improve the quality of life of their residents, Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) has become a reference in the field.
A platform for discussions on the evolution of the cities of the future, and with high media coverage, this exhibition highlights various sectors such as energy and the environment, governance, mobility, and so on.

The world’s largest trade fair for the sector aims to empower cities and foster harmonious development worldwide. SCEWC 2022 will be dedicated to sustainable cities and the people who inspire them. “We want sustainability for people, cities, where public transport coexists with new mobility options; inclusive cities where the streets and public services are available to all; safe cities that address both safety and privacy concerns; collective cities where collaboration and participation become a pivotal part of building a better and more prosperous future,” say the organisers.

Smart City Expo World Congress will be held at Fira Barcelona. As was the case in 2021, this year’s edition will be a hybrid experience, with the in-person event in Barcelona once again and a simultaneous digital programme hosted by Tomorrow.City, the digital platform for cities of the future.
Roughly 24,000 virtual and in-person visitors are expected to attend to meet more than 1000 exhibitors and listen to 400 speakers from 140 different countries.
